In the first months of life, a foal needs many building blocks for healthy bone development. It is extremely important that these are available in the right ratio to each other: too much of one or too little of another can lead to abnormalities such as OC(D). With the wrong ratio, the absorption of the necessary minerals can be disrupted.

Minerals in the right ratio

Pavo PodoCare contains phosphorus, magnesium, calcium and vitamin D to support optimal growth of bone tissue. For healthy bone development, extra phosphorus and magnesium are especially important. Calcium, which is often wrongly assumed to be needed in extra amounts, is already plentiful in the mare’s milk and roughage. The ratios in Pavo PodoCare are precisely tailored to requirements, based on the latest scientific insights. It contains no wheat, so it is suitable for a gluten-free diet.

Feeding tip

Get your foal eating Pavo PodoCare as young as possible. At four to six weeks, foals usually make their first attempt at solid food, often by nibbling from their mother’s feed bowl. Teach them to eat independently early on by offering them their own bowl, separate from the mare.
