Calming supplement for stressful situations

Sometimes stress is unavoidable for horses. A stress response is influenced by signalling substances travelling to and from the brain. They can send two messages: a stress message (“watch out, danger!”) and a relaxation message (“stay calm, don’t panic”).

More stress messages show up as a higher heart rate, faster breathing, sweating and tense muscles. When relaxation messages increase, heart rate and breathing return to normal and the muscles become loose and supple. In stressful situations, stress messages rise and relaxation messages fall, making your horse more alert and ready to flee.

Pavo BeChill works on both sides: it limits the increase in stress messages and slows down the breakdown of relaxation messages.

Active ingredients: lemon balm and magnesium

• Lemon balm: a powerful natural ingredient that slows the breakdown of relaxation messages, so more relaxation remains in the body
• Magnesium: one of the best-known ingredients for relaxing body and mind. After magnesium is given, the concentration of the stress hormone cortisol is demonstrably lower. Magnesium helps inhibit the production of stress messages, so the body receives fewer signals to raise heart rate and breathing, sweat and tense the muscles.
