Hippo Lyte is a complementary feed that helps compensate for the loss of electrolytes through heavy sweating. It contains important salts, vitamins and minerals and supports fluid balance during exercise, travel or stressful situations.

Why electrolytes?

When a horse sweats heavily, it loses not only fluid but also important electrolytes such as potassium, chloride, sodium and calcium. Sweat even contains more electrolytes per litre than blood, so replenishing them is essential for performance and wellbeing.

Feeding advice

• During an event, competition, stressful situation or hot weather: 30 to 40 g per day, split into 2 portions (before and during or after exercise)
• When travelling: 60 to 90 g per day, split into 2 or 3 portions

Give Hippo Lyte for 1 to 3 days after heavy sweating, up to 100 g per day. Always make sure water is available and that your horse drinks enough. Ask your vet for advice before use, before extending use or if water intake is insufficient.
