Synovium Hoof Health is a high-quality nutritional supplement that supports the health, growth and quality of the hooves. Thanks to its high biotin content, it is very suitable for horses with poorer-quality hooves or dry, crumbly hooves.

Biotin for strong keratin

The hoof wall consists partly of keratin, a mix of complex proteins that provides firmness and a low moisture content. Biotin (vitamin B7) supports keratin production and therefore both the quality and growth of the hooves. Research shows that long-term biotin supplementation has a significant positive effect on hoof quality, especially in horses with poor to very poor hoof quality.

Zinc and copper

Zinc is important for building and maintaining hoof wall cells and for keratinisation of the hooves. Copper is needed for the enzymes that form the keratin strands of the hoof wall. Together, zinc and copper protect the fats in the hoof against damage that can lead to drying out. A deficiency of these trace elements can result in dry, crumbly hooves.

Methionine

Keratin production requires amino acids from the diet. Hoof Health contains the essential amino acid methionine, which the body uses to make cysteine. Cysteine contributes to the strong structure of keratin and thus to the quality and hardness of the hoof. The amounts of biotin, zinc and copper in this supplement are based on scientific studies.

Dosage

• Horses: add 30 g to the normal ration daily
• Ponies: add 15 g to the normal ration daily

A level 30 ml scoop holds 30 g. One tub lasts about 77 days (horse) or 153 days (pony).
