A horse's digestive system is very vulnerable. R-Gut Wellness is specially designed to stimulate the gut flora and strengthen the immune system and overall resistance.
What's inside?
- FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides), in a high dose: ideal food for the good bacteria in the hindgut. These stimulate the production of butyric acid, the main energy source for the gut wall, which promotes nutrient absorption
- Tributyrin: extra butyric acid as an energy source for the gut cells. The better they work, the more efficiently nutrients are absorbed and unwanted substances kept out
- MOS (mannan-oligosaccharides): help keep the gut flora balanced
- Live yeasts: support fibre digestion in the hindgut. Sport horses often eat quickly because of training, which can let starch reach the caecum and upset the balance there
- Threonine: needed to build the mucus layer in the gut, which protects against pathogens and unwanted substances
